Hundred extra lines at a time, let's progress further in this appropriately named mapset, which was actually created largely as an experiment or practice megawad with no consistent theme, using "the first idea that came to mind". Quite a successful experiment at that, join us to finish it this week and enjoy more chill gameplay, just don't get too used to it!

After some dark and challenging maps last week you might enjoy a wad that's quite the polar opposite. Lines progress is a megawad that starts with a 100-line map and adds 100 lines each time until it ends up with 3200 lines in MAP32. If the unique concept and the rare promise of a relatively chill wad (well, at least until we get to MAP32) is enough to entice you, we'll be happy to have you there!

Second half of DARKZONE is here to bring more darkness into our lives with its gloomy environments and, as it turns out, more intense and less forgiving gameplay than in the first portion of the wad. We might just need every helping hand and meatshield we can get so I hope to see you, or at least feel your presence there!

DARKZONE is a megawad of 23 maps whose claim to fame is... being quite dark. To compensate for all that darkness the wad uses SoftFX which is a texture and sprite pack allowing for brightmap-style effects in ports that don't support brightmaps, giving you among other things a spooky eye glow by which you can identify enemies even in complete darkness. Ready to be spooked 1.5 months in advance or not, here we go!

Whether the title fills you with dread or with excitement for the opportunity to get close and personal with your fellow marines, your suspicion is correct - Constriction is a megawad where players are constrained to a playing area of 1024x1024 and thus follows right in the footsteps of its two C predecessors from the 2000s: Claustrophobia 1024 and Congestion 1024. The occasional traffic jam and Tokyo subway rush hour experience notwithstanding, the wad provides a decent amount of open spaces and if they are not open enough for your taste, look at the bright side -- you'll never feel lonely in these maps!
