After a quite speedy part 1, the second half of the wad does not completely overturn the trend but some more adventurous and monster-filled maps get mixed in with the fast-paced run-and-gun ones for a bit of variety. You can also expect a bit more resistance in the form of higher tier monsters, likely resulting in a slower pace this time but if the TNS spirit has anything to say about that, matching our speed from the previous week sounds just like an additional challenge!

As the name might evoke, Community Trunk took its inspiration from the Community Chest but is targeted for limit-removing ports and fortunately for us, features less magnum opus mindset and sprawling maps than what the CChest series is known for. In the development for almost 4 years, it has finally reached the release candidate stage just recently and we're going to dig right into the first part of the wad this Thursday evening!

After some gentle introduction, the second half of Doom 2 Minus Doom is going to feel a little like Doom 2 Plus Plutonia, with distinctly Doom 2-like environments but with the monster demographics closely resembling those from the world of the Casali brothers. I trust there's no further explanation needed and if you join us this evening, you'll know exactly what to expect!

It would seem that Doom 2 Minus Doom should leave you with a 2 but instead we get a 33-map megawad of pure Doom 2-ness: no single shotgun, Doom 1 textures or map-placed Doom 1 monsters allowed. That's a lot of resources shaved off especially on the enemy roster part but that just means some monsters get to do a double duty for 2 upcoming sessions. Can you guess which? :>

The search for the forbidden fruit that tastes the sweetest has been fruitless so far but let's finish our unauthorized journey today while we're getting away with it. Indeed, the maps have been quite tolerating of our intrusion and the trend continues in the latter half of the wad - it's a fairly chill gameplay all throughout that you might appreciate as the days are starting to get hot!
