Name Change / Experience Points Transfer Policy

The volume of requests for this has gotten out of control. Some people have requested a name change or points transfer more than once in the same week. Transferring points is a manual process which is time consuming, and considered a lower priority than some of the other tasks that need to be done.

Here are some guidelines to keep in mind:

• You are not able to transfer points from one account to another yourself
• Select a name carefully. If you use an alias, don't expect us to move/add/change exp points simply because you've made the decision not to use one of the aliases anymore.
• If you like to accumulate exp points, make sure you select a name that you are willing to use for a very long time.
• If you've joined a clan and you want to change your name to reflect the new clan, DO NOT register a new name. It is much more difficult to transfer points from one account to another than it is to simply rename an account.
• If you have an account with minimal experience points, don't even bother to ask. It is a waste of everyone's time to transfer points for accounts such as those. 5000 (five thousand) points should be considered the minimum amount of points to warrant a transfer/change.
• When you request a name change, you MUST contact Raider in IRC. I need to verify your identity, and IRC is the ideal place to do that. There are also questions that I have to ask, or limitations for the name you've chosen. The easiest way to manage all that is to have a 1 on 1 conversation on IRC.

Beginning January, 2007, ZDaemon accounts will no longer be renamed and points will no longer be transferred. If you join a clan, or switch clans, you will have to register a new name. Any accumulated points you have will remain with the old name. The new name will start at zero exp. There will be no more name changes.
